BIM

At Wilson Mason, we embed Building Information Modelling (BIM) into every project. We utilise Autodesk Revit as our native BIM software and implement BIM standards, protocols and procedures in accordance with BS-EN-ISO-19650-series and Information Management Initiative (IMI) Framework to deliver projects from concept to handover.

Our approach when incorporating BIM in a project is a four-step approach of; Organise, Implement, Manage and Produce.

We believe the benefits of incorporating of BIM on our projects allows for efficient and accurate delivery of design information in a structured and collaborative approach that enhances the experience of all involved and ultimately achieves successful projects for our Clients.

Organise:
Compiling BIM Execution Plans to set clear strategy on our projects and to align our BIM standards methods and procedures in accordance with the BS-EN-ISO-19650-series.
Implement:
Utilising the latest BIM authoring software to compile our Architectural design information and partner with external design consultants to create federated BIM models, realising the full potential of BIM on our projects.
Manage:

Establishing BIM management and undertaking a lead coordination role on our projects, allowing us to effectively manage project collaboration, though coordination tracking and clash detection.

Produce:
Compiling our design information utilising the native Architectural model as the primary source to produce design information for each RIBA stage of a project, achieving a structured approach with accurate and efficient output.

At Wilson Mason we believe the implementation of BIM benefits our clients by:

Client Engagement:

Promoting client engagement in the early design stages of a project, utilising 3d visualisations and accurate representations of buildings that clients can interact with and interrogate. This early involvement helps shape the client engagement process, offering efficiency in decision making to achieve sign off at the relevant stages of a project.

Design:

Creating and developing design information in an accurate, strategic and coordinated approach that reduces project risk and addresses coordination elements prior to construction, decreasing delays on site.

Health and safety:

Offering a robust approach to health and safety, aligning BIM and CDM in a collaborative environment that allows projects to be approached on an individual basis.

Asset management:

Improving asset management for operations and maintenance throughout the lifecycle of a building, providing an accurate digital building model at project handover that contains valuable data for facilities management.

Compliance:

Assuring quality and compliance in accordance with the BS EN ISO 19650 series that promotes adherence with high quality regulatory requirements and is recognised industry standard.

Architecture shaped by clear thinking and careful intent.
