About the project

The brief for the development of the new factory required the provision of large high bay storage for the accommodation of goods and finished goods storage.

Provision was also needed for the accommodation of a bulk packaging area located between ‘goods in’ and ‘finished product’ storage to house a variety of product packaging lines.

One of the development objectives required the proposed factory design to maximise the available building footprint. The dynamic low impact building extends over 200m in length and 50m deep. However, the profile masks the scale of the building while addressing practical considerations such as the elimination of gutters next to dense tree planting.

Integrating new systems and technologies, the project supports the client’s net zero carbon targets while enabling significant job creation.
