The aim was to produce new commercial spaces on three key sites as well as residential accommodation to diversify the town centre housing mix, with new public spaces being created at the market.

We provided careful review of design elements to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising the overall vision, such as exploring alternative materials for finishes or construction methods. Breaking the project into smaller, manageable phases helped manage cash flow and allow for adjustments based on market conditions and cost fluctuations.

These improvements to Leyland town centre provide revitalised surroundings for local businesses to encourage customers to visit and increase the overall foot traffic in the area. For the general public it provides improved social spaces that are adaptable to the changing needs of the town as well as revitalising what was previously under maintained public spaces.

Reusing existing structures where feasible, incorporating existing buildings and structures into the design significantly reduced demolition and new construction costs. The project required regular communication and collaboration with stakeholders, including the local community and businesses, helping to manage expectations and address concerns related to cost and design decisions.
